tail light swap

hello;

i just joined up.

i have a question..

i purchased a set of brand new 2006 tail lights for a silverado with the intentions of installing them on my 2000 silverado.

 

the problem is the 06 tail lights have a place for 4 light bulbs.

my 2000 silverado tail lights have only 3.

 

what is the bottom small light for?

 

if i was to go to a salvage yard and get the parts that hold these small bulbs.

could i splice them into my wiring harness.

 

where will these lights splice into? are these little lights running lights or brake lights?

It's a side marker light and it flashes alternately with the turn signal.

 

if i was to go to a salvage yard and get the parts that hold these small bulbs.

could i splice them into my wiring harness.

I would try to get the complete harness for each side. It's easy to run, did mine in less than twenty minutes. (Duallys come with the old style lights). They unplug under the rear of the bed.

 

where will these lights splice into? are these little lights running lights or brake lights? See above. I wouldn't know where to splice them in.
