Dash Light LED Replacement?

I came across a post on another truck site about people with 2002 and older trucks replacing their bulbs behind their guage clusters with LED versions. I took my dash apart today to see what bulbs are behind there. Once the guage assembly is disconnected, I took the back surround off. I was unable to get inside the assembly to see what kind of bulbs go in there. It looks like the needles would have to come off to be able to get at the circuit board. I pried it open a little to see inside, and I can see real tiny bulbs, which makes me think that maybe there arent LED equivalents like this. I know I could do this mod on my 99. Sucks they went to smaller bulbs. I was wondering if anyone else has done this mod, or looked into it, maybe have any other ideas? Id like to change the background color to blue or red.

I guess you could solder the LED's in the bulb socket and use a proper resistor , I guess a 1K would do for s regular 3Volt LED. it will take you a little time but it's a way... i'm also thinking about it. I just wonder how it would look...

Ive seen pictures on people who've done it with the older clusters. I don't know if it would be worth it because the LED replacements they use have 4 to 6 LEDs setup in a WIDE array on 1 bulb. The ones in the 2003+ seem to be really tiny, if I saw it right. Which probably means they don't make an LED Light small enough to have multiple LEDS on each one. It looks really cool though
