Wanting to level out my truck.

Hello everyone. I don't post many questions here cause my truck is pretty much at a standstill on mods right now but I have one question. My 1996 SBRC Sierra currently has a 3/4 drop. I recently upgraded to 20's with 245/40/20's and the gap over the back tire increased with the smaller tire. I like the rake look but don't like the gap. Without going to c-notch to acheive the level stance I am thinking about removing the rear overload leaf to bring the back down an additional inch. I have heard of people doing this but wanted to see if anyone has on here and what they think about the ride. I never haul or tow anything so I really have no need for the overload leaf. Is there anything special I must look for if I do this. Thanks in advance for all replies. GMC 1996

I had a buddy do this on his S10...it works, yes. Even smoothes out your ride...but you can forget about ever using it as a truck again. Someone sitting in the bed weighing maybe 150 pounds made it sag pretty bad.
