i have a 2003 yukon that has a strange problem, every time i go out some where the 4x4 has changed, some times from 2high to all wheel, sometimes frome 2 high to nuteral, and sometimes four low, seems there is no patern, i have took the switch out and looked at it but see no lose stuff,it dont seem to changes while driving, onley when stoping the engine and waiting half hour or so,when running i can use the 4 wheel no problem, they all seem to switch ok,have the sevice light come on from time to time, any body know which way to go on this? is it still the switch or a senser? thanks

ive heard of the switches going out in them, the easiset thing to do is to go to a gm parts site and order a new push button switch

On my 99 Z71, I will occasionally see the switch indicator light go out all together or the Service 4WD warning message will show up. At that point, 4WD will not engage at all and the system will default to 2WD mode.

The AutoTrack switch on the dash has been a problem for lots of people. The fix is to simply replace the switch assembly and clear any PCM error codes. The switch assembly is all electronic and there is no repair to it.

The switch is about $60 and available from either a Chevy or GMC dealer.

just changed the switch and the same thing happens, turn truck off in two high and let sit for ten mins and turn tuck on and its in four high or all wheel or even 4low,removed and cleaned the groundings as well and still no good,do you think ist because i didnt clear codes?or is the more sensores that can cause this, what is the best way to clear codes if anyone knows
