Does anyone know of and aftermarket headunit that will still work with the steering wheel controls?? I just got my '06 Sierra Crew Cab, Bose, single cd with cassette. Sorry if this is a common sense question.....newbie here!

Crutchfield sells adapters that allow you to use your steering wheel controls with just about any aftermarket head unit that has an infrared remote sensor.

Will the rest of the bose system be affected or will any more adapters be required. Should I just switch out the whole system, speakers also. BTW, sorry if this is a stupid question but on Crutchfield it asks how many speakers I have when I look up components to fit my truck. 2-front doors, 2-rear doors, 2-A pillar tweeters, 1-sub (I think)...... =7. Am I missing something or is this correct?

Your going to need another adaptor so you don't blow out the bose speakers, and to retain the door chimes and buzzers. Search for GMOS-04, there is one for Bose and On-star and one for Bose without on-star.
