clunk in the front

well my 25 hd has 276 miles and i here clunk in the front and the steering seems slopy also at 50 there is a homing noise in rear or drive shaft :angry: :sneek:

I believe there is a TSB for the intermediate shaft, which sounds like it might be causing the clunking and the sloppy steering. I will look around and see if I can find any more info....

  That stinks. I’m sitting on the side of the road right now with the same issue. Never had an issue before taking it in for the ground strap recall. Now I’m outside of warranty and they’ll probably want $200 just to diagnose what they already “fixed”.

If their vehicles can save 1–2% fuel by using a special fuel economy lubricant, then that OEM can drastically reduce the amount of fines they need to pay.” I liked this and the following paragraph as well but it’s really only touching the beginning of the benefits OEMs see from spec’ing these oils. After you factor in “out of warranty” service work and new car sales when these engines fail before their time, it’s a good racket for them. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you!

  SwRI is who the big OEM's go to for this sort of thing. In the above the ring and bore plus valvetrain power is roughly the same for 0W30 to 0W16 but both fall apart in the 0W8. Overall the only looser is bearing friction which Stribeck told us decades ago. There is much to ponder in that reference material. That was a good find @OnTheReel
