Moving front overhead console to back

I would like to replace the front overhead console with one that has the homelink system. Can I recycle the old maplight console and use it to replace the crappy lights for the back passengers in the crew cab? Are there provisions behind the headliner?

I searched the forums but all I could find were topics about replacing the front. Anybody with ideas?

the overhead console has a screw at the front and has some clips at the back. you would not have any thing to clip to if you put it in the rear. i tried a bunch of times to buy the console with the homelink in it but never could get one on e-bay so i finally just bought a console off a trailblazer and took the homelink out of it and mounted it in the overhead console pocket. works fine. and saved $50 or more.

I replaced my front console with the longer one. For the back passengers in my extended cab I found a dome light that has two reading lamps in it on ebay. Had to make the hole in the headliner a little bigger, fabricate some clips to hold it in and rewire but works fine. Even got it in the grey color of the headliner.
