I have a ? I recently purchased a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado Ext. Cab with a Bose system. I have been reading up on the bose system and read somewhere that there is a sub underneat the middle console and that it has its own amp, and i was wondering if this is true. And also i have 2 12's pioneer subs and a 760 watt Pioneer amp i am going to keep the stock radio in it cause i think it looks better and i was wondering do i have to get any special parts to hook up the amp to the stock radio. If anyone could help it would be great.

aight well i took apart my console and found the amp but couldnt see the sub is it further towards the dash cause i couldnt see in that direction because there was alot of parts that i didnt even try to attempt to take off

the easiet way is to add a pac adapter. everything will still be stock and you add your amp and subs via the adapter.

 

here is the info: The PAC AOEM-GM24 Premium Sound System Interface is a 'specific application' adaptation of the PAC OEM-1 interface. This adapter will allow you to add an additional after-market amplifier in many GM vehicles with a factory Bose amplified sound system. You will be able to keep the factory amp and sound system unchanged (see specific application list below). The interface is transformer isolated, maintains phase and is linear from 20 to 20,000 Hz. This 4-channel interface will allow the output to be adjusted to the input requirements of the new amplifier, providing 2:1 gain and infinite attenuation. The input connectors plug into the factory stereo and vehicle harness. The 4 female RCA output jacks plug into the new amplifier. Comes complete with amplifier trigger wire. Just like the factory stereo system, the warning chimes will play through the front left RCA output of the interface. Also, turning on the rear entertainment controls, if so equipped, will make the rear outputs of the interface play a second audio source.

aight thanks alot for the information that helped out alot. i think ive been reading to many different forums on how to do it and i just needed a straight up answer to make my system sound good. And most of everyone is hating on the bose system but to me mine sounds really good.

i like mine. this is the second truck i have done this way and it sounds fine to me. i am not trying to blow out windows but when i crank it up i want the base and the other speakers to sound good. i have a downfire box in my crew cab with 10's and it hits really good.
