Don't waste your money on a handheld unless you have a diesel. Check with Tom at T.Byrne Motorsports for a Wester's custom tuned ecm. Well worth the money over a handheld unit.

i agree, as will most guys on this site. if you want a handheld the ONLY one i'd consider is a predator. you get free custom tunes on it, its MUCH more powerful than hyp III or superchips.

I am considering trying to get the most towing power out of my 01 6.0L 2500HD CC 4x4. I called Superchips earlier this morning and was surprised when they told me about their new Superchips Flashpaq (or whatever the actual name is). The info was coming along well from the tech. Then I asked about the 3 performance settings mentioned on the web site. The tech told it is actually 1 performance setting and 2 tow mode settings. I said that sounded great, since towing was my main purpose for trying to get more power. He stopped me and asked how much I plan to tow. I said probably around 8,000 lbs. He tells me that they cannot boost performance (with fuel pressure and timing) for anything towing over 6,000 lbs. I was sort of shocked to find this out. I'm just glad the guy was up front about it. He said about the only thing the superchip would do for me towing wise would be to fine tune the shift pattern.

Does anyone know if this Wester's tuning can tune for increased power from a gas engine for towing up to the trucks GCWR? Or does anyone have any experience with it first hand? I've emailed Wester's and am awaiting their reply and will post it when it is received.
