1999 suburban, 5.7L got a service engine light today. Code is P0453 which means EVAP Emission Control System Pressure Sensor High. got about 161K on the odo right now. What is most likely the culprit?

The most likely culprit is the fuel tank pressure sensor, but in order to know for sure there are a few tests that must be done. You have to remove the tank to replace the sensor, so it would be a good idea to know for sure before you committed to replacing it.

 

If you are technically savvy, the best bet for getting the needed diagnostic information is the alldatadiy website. All their data is factory data, as opposed to your typical Haynes manual.

pulled the battery cable to reset the ecm, been about 400 miles since and no light. wonder if the light was set by fluke...
