Thin paint on new body gmc's

:chevy: My local gmc dealer has 4 of the new gmc's in and I am a bit disappointed. I went up there to look again and 2 out of the 4 had paint so thin at the bottom 10" or so of the doors that you could see right through the paint and see the primer. Both affected trucks were deep blue metallic.

I went over to the chevy dealer and they had one of the new body trucks and it was arctic white, no problems with paint on that one. :banghead:

I just have to say I took my father in law who is a die hard dodge man to look at the new gmc and I was embarrased to say the least. :)

My 07 sierra classic also has the deep blue metallic and no paint problems on it.

i have an 07 3500 black crew cab, old body style and i am disapointed with the paint on it. see my post about 3 weeks ago. i am still waiting to meet with chevys regional rep. i have been on alot of web sites and spoke with alot of chevy owners. it seems to be a common problem with chevys paint. i should know next week how they are going to handle my paint problem. in my mind its a no brainer what needs to be done. if chevy does the right thing i will never buy another brand besides gm. if they dont i will never ever own another gm product and i promise to take a bunch of people with me to another brand and that brand will most likely be dodge. i hope chevy works with me,i like being a chevy man

I too have been a chevy/gmc man for 11 years now. These trucks I saw were brand new on the lot. if I can see the problem I know the dealership can see it also. You would think they would do something about it before a customer buys one and then discovers it afterwards and is soured on the brand.

GM has had paint problems on their trucks since at least 1988. This is nothing new. Remember all the recalls in the 90s?

I looked at a couple trucks yesterday. The paint looked very well done on both (a white one and that bluish grayish color). What about made me have a bowel movement was the 38K price on the 4x4 model I was interested in....
