5.3 Hesitant start

Recommended Posts

Quick question for anyone that can help.....I have a 2000 Silverado with the 5.3, when I go to start the truck sometimes (Intermittent) it take a good while to start (as long as 5 seconds). I recently changed the fuel pump becuase the fuel gauge was acting crazy and I was advised by another GM mechanic (Neighbor that moved) that there was a short and it was about to leave me stranded....and I definately do not want that.

I know that I have seen some topics suggesting a Fuel pressure regulator but is there a sensor that could be the cause of this too? Maybe and Idle or Throttle position sensor.

Any help from anyone is appreciated.
