Sirius receiver connections

I think I have settled on Sirius as the choice for satellite radio in my truck. Overall, the music selections and types I like are better than XM and after trying the freebie online trials, Sirius seems to sound better. And I have heard that Sirius will be carrying NASCAR for the 2007 season!

What I would like to do is to use a aux-in or line-in connection to the truck radio head unit but is there an Aux-In or Line-In jack on my truck's radio?? It's a '99 so I don't think the harness that works for the 03 and later radios will work. I have the CD changer in the console and the cassette in the head unit.

The other option is to use the FM antenna connection but a line connection would provide the best signal and clarity.

If you have the financial means, you may be better off purchasing a new head unit that is Sirius compatible. However, if you plan on using the Sat. radio in the house as well, then you may want to pick up something like this: Wired FM Modulator Of course these things are dependent on the Sirius unit you go with. I have the Starmate Replay, and just used the FM modulator in the unit, and not one of the hard wired things. The reception was pretty good, but not like it is now with my Alpine head unit. The only issue was on long trips, I had to change the channel on the radio I was using a couple of times. But if thats the worst thing you have to do, it still beats 20 minutes of commercials each hour, and the same old crap you hear on every other radio station out there! Sirius is the best purchase I have made for the truck, and refuse to listen to regular "free" radio anymore. Good luck.
