02 Envoy NAV Upgrade Successful!!

Ok so I have a 2002 Envoy that came with the BOSE 6 disc changer from the factory. It has a BOSE amplifier also.

 

Today I received my GM OEM NAV LUX head unit, installed it (VIN was previously cleared) and it sounds/works awesome Plug n' play baby!

Moral of the story: Always be an independent thinker willing to do teamwork!

 

I cannot tell you how many people said this wouldnt work because of the data bus. Heck, I didnt even bother trying for 2 years. HOWEVER I got bored one day and pryed a little only to find out that the T360 had the Class 2 serial bus from the day the first one rolled off the assembly line.

People had mixed up 2003+ Full size GM trucks and 2002+ GM SUV's. Yes, full size trucks (yukon, silverado, etc etc) had the crappy ol 1.5 DIN stereos on the old data bus. But the new style Envoy/Trailblazer out since 2002 have always had the class 2 data bus and double DIN stereos. +1 for GM

Yeah, an important detail about MichEnvoyBoy's truck is that in the '02 Envoys, the lux system wasn't associated with the Y91 or Y92 RPO codes. His system/amp was lux, even though it didn't have those codes. Cost him a big headache and I'm sure some $$$.
