I was at work today and was reading the paper and in the auto section they had a page about the 07 Ford Exploder Sport trac. I guess it now has an option with the 292 hp 4.6l w/ a 6 speed auto. They were bragging about its 0-60 time being 7.5 seconds. That got me wondering the 1/4 mile time, which i googled and found was 16 flat, and other low 16's. Then I saw an older Sport trac on the way home from work and wondered what my 0-60 time was (rough estimate by counting in head :D ), I couldnt get traction, and lately the truck spins out when shifting from 1st to 2nd. I guess its from me takeing the spare tire off (heavier than I assumed) and tail gate. It used to chip from 1st to 2nd, now its a half second roast. Traction control is over rated, it didnt help :D:confused:

Anyways here's a few links for the new sport trac.

Im not sure why their bragging about this things acceleration so much. It was all over the paper, and when I google this thing, the 1/4 and 0-60 times are in each article. Still gotta drop 30 grand to get the 4.6l in it....:lol:

It handles better in parking lots, and gets better mileage.

So what was your best 0-60?

Today I got the chance to try. Traction was pretty good actually, only spun for a second on launch. With no brake standing or anything I counted 6 flat in my head. Might have a buddy ride with and have them use a cell phone with a stop watch lol

I think I read somewere it was around 14 in the city. Might as well get a V10, if Ford still puts them in their 3/4 / 1 Tons.

Well its not very accurate, I did count in my head. I've got my time slip posted on here somewere in this drag forum. 3rd gear is when I start suckin', right after 75mph, give or take. I thought SS's ran 0-60 in 5.7ish, a bit slower than SRT10 rams? Their mid 5's.
