The only way you will know is to put it on a dyno

Have you checked the compression in all cylinders?  This is the best indicator of engine health.

Compression is good, runs great, do you know what is the rated HP by the factory ?

there is very little degradation of performance in modern engines in obviously good helath.

You have almost all your ponies.

If you pass emission test, you are pretty much in factory spec.

In fact I don't have factory spec. That's what I'm looking for. (Torque and HP)

Thanks

Come on guys, I can't believe that nobody knows on that forum the factory spec. (torque and HP) for a 1999 suburban 5.7L vortec ?

That would be for the 5.7L 350. VOrtec. same thing. 350 engine with a little Vortec plastic engine cover to make it look and sound "cool"

If anyone ever needs to check the stock HP/TQ of a vehicle go to www.edmunds.com

Then look up your vehicle under the TMV and go to 'specs'. Its faster and easier then asking a forum.

So THAT is what that plastic box is for on my 99 Yukon!!
