Rebuilding Delco Alternators

Has anybody ever rebuilt Delco Alternators?

 

I hear its only a set of bearings, brushes, and a new diode pack, and you've got a brand new alternator.

 

Is this true?

I suppose i should go into detail about what im trying to do.

 

I'm looking to start a business that rebuilds alternators. I suppose there isnt much money in "rebuild"...but possibly, buying all the parts to make an alternator "Heavy Duty" and reselling it on ebay.

 

Basically, i take people's old alternators that dont work anymore, or are on thier way out, they wait a day or so, and i return them the rebuilt alternator, but BETTER,

GoodLuck, hope it works out for ya. I personally just prefer to go to the parts store give them my old one and get a lifetime warranty replacement. But, I do hope it works out for you,
