Flowmaster Exhaust, Kit #17328, 6.0/8.1 HD's

Has anyone with a 6.0 or 8.1 liter '01,02 HD truck installed this kit from Flowmaster on their truck? It's the dual in, single out complete kit that they manufacturer. It's available from Summit for around $290.00. Good? Bad? Thanks in advance.

Flowmaster has a new muffler out for the 8.1's. Dual 3" in with dual 2.5" out. I called around and everybody was backordered until March, so I called Flowmaster and they told me to call 21st Century Exhaust. They had them in stock and were $30 cheaper than Summit or Jegs. It should be here this Wedensday. I'll let you know how it sounds.

I had the new 6.0L/8.1L Flowmaster put on this weekend. The mufflershop had no problem gitting the new Muffler. Flowmaster P/N 530504. I called him on a Monday and he had it in stock on Wednesday. Muffler installed with twin pipes off to the right side behind the real wheel was $316.50.

Hey Bruce! How do you like the new sound. I am really glad I chose the 530504 application as well! Combine it with a K&N FIPK and your set! No mileage gains yet, but still having fun (lead foot).

I put the K&N FIPK on abut 2 months ago. I think I gained about 1/2 mpg. I've only run 2 tanks through ( I don't drive it much) and I saw 1/2 mpg gain on the last tank. It's funny, I could hear first the K&N suck air on hard acceleration, but now I just hear the sweet sound of the Flowmaster.

You guys must be lucky. I put the K and N on and all I've seen is a decrease in mileage. Could just be me though. I'm gonna get a new exhaust one of these days and see if I can decrease my mileage even further

Thanks for the inputs. I was going to go with the Flowmaster dual in, single out kit but I think I'll take a look at the 530504 muffler setup. I did the Flowmaster, K&N, JBA shorty headers on my old truck and did pick up fuel mileage on long trips. I didn't notice much difference in fuel mileage around town but the extra performance was there. We'll see what happens with the 8.1.
