Power Widnows are getting slow? Why?

couple thoughts

- Are the tracks dirty?

- Maybe the electric motor is getting old

- Are you getting proper Amperage and volts to the motor?

- Is there a bad ground on the motor not allowing it enough power?

My drivers side window did this and ended up going out not too long after I noticed it. If both of your windows are doing this you may want to check your battery to see if it is weak.

Gee Guys,

Silicone spray in the tracks. Works like a charm. Do the simple, cheap stuff first. It really could be a weak battery or a bad alternator. But try the silicone spray first. It really works for me.

My 2000 sierra has painfully slow windows as well....imagine that. So I suppose to silicone spray the tracks you need to remove the whole interior door panel?

I expect that you can just use the spray tube on the end of the nozzle to do the visible part of the track, and maybe a spray-tube length down into the door on both the front and back edges. Sounded like a 30-second job the way ken1mod was talking...

Right! Clean the rubber wipes with silicone spray on a cloth. Use a thin screw driver with the cloth to get in deep. Clean everywhere the window makes contact. Then again, it could be tied to the power brake vacumn booster or possibly your knock sensors?

I have this problem in my 03 Suburban on the Passenger side Front and Rear windows, when its cold out. When its really cold, those don't want to go up, its a real pain.

The drivers side front and rear are fine though. I will try some Silicone Lubricant on them and see what happens.

I also have a brand new battery so that is good and my alternator is pushing a solid 14v to the battery while running.

I just thought it was a glitch, that when they were cold it did that.

The first time I ran into this problem was when my wife said her window was so slow it would actually stop half way up. I figured the motor was going so I called the honda place to buy a new motor and the guy suggested the silicone first. Worked instantly. Just clean all the rubber with silicon then spray some into the door panel with the window up, not a lot is needed, you might have to wash the window later.

Ok I had the same problem. If I rolled both front windows up at the same time, the passenger one, was probably 3-5 seconds behind my driverside window. I took the advice from JHM(well similar-i used cooking)lol but anyways.. I cleaned the rubber out and took the door panel off and rubbed the tracks down with oil on a tee-shirt. I might as well have put a new motor in.. :)

It just lubes up the tracks to provide less friction when it's going up and down.

Reread my post. What are y'all using FOR silicon? PAM, some parts store stuff, don't remember seeing anything that just says "silicon spray" but it's been a long time since I've had to go to the parts store.

MY BAD

Well Like I said, I just used cooking oil.. cause thats what I had around the house after I already had the door apart. But any parts store can point you in the right direction. I'm sure there's hundreds of brands. I've used Amsoil silicone spray in the past. run ya about $7 a can..
