Oil cooler lines, motor mounts

Recommended Posts

Posted

Went to cross a small gully the other day and with the slightest articulation the fan actually made contact with the bottom of the plastic shroud. Yikes, that was a noisy and scary event! My old GMC did that and it was the deteriorated motor mounts-- replaced them and no more contact. Same here? its a '01 2500HD.

Noticed a few dime sized drops of oil on the driveway and traced it to the coupling of the oil cooler lines to the 8.1.

Are these reasonably DIY projects or should i have a non-dealer shop do it? The mounts i did on the GMC were a PITA and easy only if ur hands are the size of a 5 y/o.
