Low coolant indicator

On our way home from Thanksgiving we had the right front tire blow it's belts and the tread came off, smacking the living daylights out of everything in that wheel well and knocking the cover off.

 

Since then the low coolant light as been lit on my dash and I checked levels, it's fine. I poked around and found a plug that wasn't connected and I'm assuming it's a sending unit for fluid levels but I can't figure out where it plugs in.

 

Anyone happen to know?

I am not looking at mine right now, but I believe it plugs into the bottom of the coolant reservoir.

I thought that at first because it looks like a female plug but when I couldn't get it to go in I got a mirror out to see and it's definitely not a plug.
