change gear ratio in 3.42 G80

Is it possible to just change out the gears and keep the G80 or do you have to put a whole new assembly in?

You will have to change both front and rear gears. I had this priced by a dealer ship a while back when I was getting my truck (I didn't have a choice in my gear selection when I was buying). The dealership priced it out to around $3,000. I had the dealership price it so if anything went wrong then it would still be under warranty.

Hmmm. I didn't realize I had to change both of them. I guess that makes sense though. It'll have to wait a few months. How do you like the 4.10's?

You wouldn't have to change both. Just run import racer rubber bands in the rear and 44 supper swampers in the front when you want to use 4wd.
