Amp to Sub

Hi, What size wire should I run from my amp to my sub...800 watts going to the Kicker sub.

I would personally use no less than 8 gauge.

 

What I use it 4 gauge ground and 4 gauge to battery wire.

i had 3 alpine type R's running off a fosgate 1500watt amp and i used 10 gauge twisted pair by street wires and never had a problem

I say 8 or 6 gauge. Are your subs DVC (dual voice coils)

Yes....DVC wired for a single 2ohm load

Probably 4 gauge, if your amp will take just the wire without a connector(has a crimp built into the amp, go as big as you can). Remenber to use the same size wire on the ground too or you may hear noise. Make sure you ground it good too(clean off any paint to get metal to metal contact). You cannot go too big on wire, only too small.
