Big Tool Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 It's finally here!!!! After the long wait i finally got my new ride. I am thoroughly impressed by this truck inside and out. I'm lovin the 6.0, and averaged 16 mpg on my way home going 65mph with plenty of unecessary acclerating. I'm really impressed by the low end grunt of the new LY6 compared to the Lq9 in my ss, seemed like the ss had to be wound up more to pick up speed. I've already abandoned my break in plans. I just keep finding myself in the 70-75mph range. I can't wait till the engine gets fully broke in, so i can really get on it, but i did get it to the 4000rpm range, and was very impressed "got to 90 too quick" The ride is great for a pickup. It's not as soft as my dad's denali, but it also has less body role, and feels more stable overall. Inside i'm very pleased with the cloth seating surface which is very comfortable. Audio is kinda lacking compared to the denali, but i think the biggest thing missing is a sub, which i got 4 ready to go in I like the radio more compared to the denali's nav"which sucks". Now i can't wait for my tires and rims to come in, just ordered them today before i knew the truck was in. I also got a fabtech 2" leveling kit coming any day now. Here's my tires and rims if they don't fit with the leveling kit i'm going to do a 3" b/L. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...bayphotohosting I think it's going to look sweet with 20" rims wrapped in 34" tires. The tires are identical to the ones i've got on it now so hopefully the ride won't change. I love this truck, and can't wait to spend some more seat time in it.
cerbomark Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 we both went from the SS to an 07 chevy and GMC. Although I didn t get a 6.0 , I agree with the ride quality and comfort. Brakes and steering are much better too. They are truly a different vehicle from the previous. Good luck and post some pics please.

Thanks! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> [/quo te] 4.10's and i'm lovin them so far, this thing is swift on a hole shot with no down shifting or high reving necessary which i love. the engine always seems to be right in it's sweet spot. I know without a doubt it will leave the denali from a stop no problem, i've kept myself from really hammering on it, but i definitely see many tickets in my near future I can't wait to get my boat behind this thing and see how it compares to my old avy "it's gonna be a huge improvement" The more i drive this truck the more i love it, the combination of ride and power is perfect. if you're thinking about getting one of these trucks definitely go out take them for a good long ride, and definitely try to find a v-max it's worth the extra coin for sure. my only complaint is no hood light.

Let us know how you make out with MPG once you get some miles on. I'm considering the same V-max package to tow a small traver trailer, though I'm somewhat worried about MPG driving back and forth to work (12 miles suburban driving).

I get company gas, so let it burn baby.
