LOWERING 2000 1500

I had a couple questions about lowering my truck, it is a 2000 chevy silverado 1500 4x4 short bed single cab with the 4.8. The rear of the truck sits about 2 inches higher than the front. I would like to level it out by lowering it in the rear, what is the best way to go about doing this, and how much should i drop the rear?

i know for the old body style they sell leveling kits that will drop the rear 2"

 

i think these are usually for 2WD i dont know about 4WD

You can buy new shackles for the rear (with new u-bolts) for about $30-$40 at your local parts store. With power tools, you can put them on in about 1/2 hour.

I just looked up shackles, from belltech and I was wondering if they come with the u bolts? they just showed a picture of the shackles

Call them and ask.

 

If not, like I said, you can pick them up at just about any parts store for fairly cheap.
