Lost my keys

I have a 1980 chevy silverado and today i lost my keys. I was wondering what my options are here. I have another tumbler out of my old steering column. Or am i out of luck cause i read somewhere that you need the key in the ignition to get it out.

most dealers, and locksmith can make you a copy by you providing them the VIN

Yup...But most of them will require proof of ownership as well (registration/insurance/etc).

you don't need a key to get that tumbler out on your old chevy. It's the fords that have to be in the "run" position to take the tumbler out.
