New "Flat" Wipers

I was just wondering have any of you used those new flat wipers yet. I know they come standard on the new Tahoes/Burb's/Silverado, etc. I was at Napa getting new ones (Teflon) and they were trying to get me to buy them. They were also high in price (I forget the price). They said they are supposed to work real nice. They guy said they have not gotten much feedback from them yet though. I was a little worried that they wouldn't be able to wipe away the snow/ice because they are so small.

Anyway, my question for those who have them is, do you like them better than "normal/old fashion" wipers? Do they work better? How long have you had them, they still good?

Here is a link from Chevy's website showing a picture of what they look like.

I've got the on my new Silverado and my wife's Tahoe. We both had Bosch blades on our previous vehicles, and they seem to work about as well in the rain (no snow/ice here in SouthEast Texas).

And the Rainsense wipers are kinda nice. Not as good of an implementation as what you see on BMW, etc. But beats nothing.

My rainsense wipers work perfectly in the rain.

It's the sunny day cruising down the road when they do a swipe at random that bugs me...Scares the crap out of me every time.

Right....just too many manual settings for my taste. The controls are a little confusing and some of the settings are unnecessary in my opinion. I'd prefer to just have an automatic setting without having to set the sensitivity, especially on the same dial where you can override. So after going to a manual fast, rather than just putting it back on "auto", you have to select which auto setting you would like.

Again, not bad...just could be done better.

I don't think I've touched mine since I bought it. It works just fine.

I just have to remember to NOT have the key on or the truck running when I clean the windshield...Wipers swiping across the knuckles makes Wingnut a grumpy man.

The new wipers work great in my new Sierra. The rainsense is wonderful so far. For me it makes up for what I consider poor placement of the wiper contols on GM vehicles. It's annoying to adjust that little ring on the stalk all the time. In auto mode, just set it and concentrate on more important things like driving

I don't get why GM adds useless features like Rainsense when they remove more useful things like the underhood light, cabin air filter, etc. to "cut costs." Come on guys, it's not too hard to twist the stalk to turn on the wipers yourself.

Nor is it hard to carry a flashlight.

I like my rainsense. :banghead:

The new flat wipers that we (CARQUEST)sell are from Trico and called Innovision. We have removed the teflon blades in favor of the new design. They are expensive but so far the comments from customers have been great. We have no snow or ice here so I cannot comment on that.

I will let you in on little secret. Trico's blades come with a small alcohol pad used to clean the wiping surface. If you will do this with a regular alcohol pad about every 6 to 8 weeks and then use a small amount of silicone spray on a rag to wipe off the wiping surface, a set of blades will last you 2 years or more. (maybe not in the frozen north, but they will in southern climates). I just replaced the ones on my work Caravan and it is over 2 years old.

I must say the rainsense wipers are great, I thought it would be another useless option but they are much better than I thought.

You had them on your M5...no? I had them on my 01 M5, and have them on my SL. They work great. Does GM's rainsense come close in wiper performance to BMW?
