Hey folks, Iv been reading these boards for a while I was still driving my Grand Prix trying to decide if a truck was my thing. Eventually a purchased a 2006 Sierra 1500 SLT Z71 5.3 liter Ext Cab LB. So far I have thoroughly enjoyed it and being in Alaska i have found a lot of use for it. Unfortunately, this brings me to my problem. My wife and I took a ride up to a KFC that was located in a grocery store business complex type scenario and I thought I really didnt have much to worry about. We were inside no more than a few minutes and after we came back to the truck aparently some assholes thought it would be extremely cool to put a chewed licorish tube thinggy on my hood and spread some type of goo candy on my driver side door handle. Naturally the little twerps were nowhere to be seen (funny how that works) and although the little prank was an easy clean up I just thought that it was pretty rediculous that somebody has the audacity to screw with somebody elses wheels. Are people that triflin where anytime somebody else has something nice they have to mess with it? Are they upset with their own pathetic existence that the only way to make them feel better is to ruin some random strangers day? I mean they didnt even hang around to get their ass kicked...

This really has no relevance to anything but I was curious if you guys have had simular run ins like this. Being in the military, I can tolerate a good prank and hell I have even dealt my fair share. But never on this earth do you screw around with somebodies ride; Especially not to have the human decency to own up to it. It isnt like my ride is some 2 thousand dollar honda civic or something, this is a $40k truck that probably is worth more than anything the little bastards own. What about you guys?

I've had quite a few things like that happen to my trucks over the years. Not a lot you can do about it really, other than get mad an vent about it.

Another peeve of mine was people that thought that the back of my truck was their own personal trash can.

I'm in the military too and was a cop (but not anymore) so I did have several things happen to mine.

I owned my brand new truck less than 1 week and someone decided they hated my truck for some reason and ran a key (or something) down the entire length of the bed on my my passenger side. I saw it, got extremely pissed, then grabbed my buffer and began buffing it out. Luckily for me, they didn't press hard enough to go through the clearcoat, so I was able to get most of it out. 7 years later you can barely see it and you have to be looking for it to find it.

Next thing... :banghead:

I had someone throw and egg on the hood of my truck in the apartment complex I lived in. My truck was barely 2 months old at the time and I worked midnight shifts. Well because I slept during the day, the egg stayed on there all throughout the day (and it gets HOT in Texas). When I got up I saw it and immediately and thought my paint was done! I took it to a car wash and the egg came right off without even a blemish on the hood. I couldn't believe it, nothing was wrong with my paint! Needless to say, I moved from that ghetto a few days later.

Gotta love HATERS! A**HOLES!

I've had the front chrome strip that runs across the grill get broken off...that cost me about $70.

My fiancee's Volvo S80, on the other hand, has been egged a couple of times. Once at my old apartment complex and once at her parents house. Yellow egg + forest green paint = pissed off Eric. As said before, Texas heat does not help you get egg off a car.

I was parked in a 7-11 and had a WT chick in a Camaro fling her door open and hit my 97. Hell I was inside the truck and had the engine running. That really set me off, I yelled "hit the SOB harder next time" and she shot me the bird. I lucked out since she hit the molding and not the paint. Seeing her expresion was enough to make me laugh hard enough to almost break a rib! This incident made me park further away from the door.

Back in my earlier days, I had a black Hurst Olds that I had bought new and it was my cherished pride and joy. There were only 3,001 built so it was pretty rare. It seemed to be a target for people. Luckily it was never "keyed" but I finally got to where I refused to drive it to a movie or similare place. We simply took my girlfriend's Chevrolet Citation.

Someone finally stole the Hurst out of my garage during the middle of the day. I recovered it 2 weeks later and it was trashed even to the point of they ran it through a barbed wire fence. I collected the ins, sold the car and bought my 1971 Chev Pick Up with the money.

BTW The kid that stole it, was 15. He spent less than 6 weeks in a detention center and within 2 weeks of getting out, he had broken into someone elses home like he did mine.

Sounds about right for our area C & A. Heck, have you seen that the city of Jackson is calling auto theft "joy riding" now? Isn’t that just tops?

Mine already has several scuffs and chips in it...And I'm currently shopping for a pickup to drive to places like the theater and the grocery store for this very reason.

Well...Plus I can't stand not having a pickup. :banghead:

I hear ya, iv been contemplating getting something to drive around but then I just look at my truck (subsequently my payment) and find it hard to bring myself to it. I worked hard for what I have and cant stand just to garage it. But at the same time I am just taken by how some people can be such penis'.

Many years ago, i was working at the local supermarket as a Front End Manager. One of my cartboys thought it would be funny to load two rows of carts into the back of my 88 Silverado. He thought it was funny.

After we had a nice little chat behind the store, and my fist shaking hands with his jaw, he removed the carts from my truck, and apologized so that i wouldnt rat him out to management.

He now sells vacuum cleaners. But he's so bad at his job, he comes into that same supermarket (Tops Markets) and trys to sell his vacuum's to workers.

This one brings back another story!

That same truck got hit with a ketchup bottle by a cartboy. Absolutly covered. Doorhandle, everything. Now granted, alotta people told me to mess with the Mustang his parents bought him...but i'm not like that. No reason to lower yourself down to that level.

So, i dealt with it in a swift manner. Manager on Duty watched as I kicked the sh*t out of him. Good times.

I had one incident, not me getting hit but me doing the hitting. I stopped to get some food and was as square in the parking spot as I could be. this tard in a bonneville park a foot and a half from my truck (colorado at the time). I was able to slip into my truck without touching his car, and then I thought about it and got really torqued. So I took my door and slammed it into his car..... Hard. I have never done anything like that before or since, but he had me sooooo mad I couldn't stand it. he couldn't have been over 18..... stupid tard. :loser::banghead:

I've got two.

While parked in a normal suburban neighborhood visiting a family member somebody shot the left side of my truck with a pellet gun. I thought my head was going to explode when I saw it. $900 later the left side of my bed has been fixed and painted but even writing this still makes me furious.

This one makes me even madder. My wife and I Had Just bought a new Honda Accord we left the dealership and went to dinner and a movie. When we came out of the movie some rat bastard had keyed every body panel, even the roof.

We called the police and got a report, called the insurance first thing in the morning and dropped it off at the dealership the next day. After a month and half, three paint jobs that were all inferior to the factory paint job and many arguments our insurance company finally agreed to replace it with a new one. Total miles logged in our "new car" 47.

Another pet peeve. When I'm parked on a job site and come out of the building and see somebody usually a laborer leaning against my truck.

I know that when I was growing up that we were taught that if its not yours don't touch it, seems simple enough.

I have no idea why some people cant respect other peoples property.

Thanks for letting me vent.
