Tow Haul light

I have a 2003 2500HD with the 6.0. When I push the tow haul button I have no light that comes on in the dash. I have checked for fuses and found none specific to that light. Also is there a light other than the push button that is supposed to light up when I engage 4WD.

Check the wiring around the cowl area. I guess the tow/haul wires get pinched/cut from the contstant shifting of the auto shifter. It gets pretty common on the auto's. You'll have to remove the steering column cowl to access it i believe.

I'll second that. Remove the plastic surronding the steering wheel and look for an orange wire, it is the tow/haul wire. Chances are it will be pinched or cut.

How did you make out? I had the same problem start two days ago and am going to look at it this week myself.

It was the orange wire in the harness. A little difficult to find but I did find it broken under neath the column. Just added a short piece of 12 gauge and wrapped it up. Should be good to go.

Just FYI, on push button 4x4s there's no other lights other than the buttons...I asked the service dept the same thing cause all the previous 4wds I've had always said "4x4" or "4 wheel drive" in the dash.
