Max Tire Size

ok...after I get the ford keys etc. I'm going to get new tires...however, I'm just going to keep my stock 17" rims b/c I love them. What is the max width, height, etc. that will fit? I know it has to be xxx/xx/17 obviously, but what's the max width that will fit? I know you kind of have to swing the numbers one way or the other when it's limited (sidewall or width) but I'm looking for the beefiest tire I can get (probably going for BFG M/Ts or Maxxis Buckshots) I've heard all over this website that 285/70/17 is the max you can fit with the tbars cranked or w/ the ford keys but a few people said they have fit like 295/70/17 or even 305/70/17...

 

I just don't want really tall, tall, skinny tires...
