06 V-max and Magnaflows?

I have been trying to make the choice of what to install and finally decided to go with true duel Magnaflows on my 06 V-Max. I really only wanted to get 1 muffler w/duels out the back but the guy at the shop said I would get better sound and performance out of true duels. They are the mid size Magnaflows. It sounds great! A little louder than I really wanted but I'll live with it. Sounds much different than my 5.3 w/a 40 series Flowmaster, not quite as loud and raspy and a much deeper tone. Only complaint is I have a BAD in cab resonating drone between 1500-2000 rpm. It almost hurts my ears is so deep and pulsating. Any ideas how to get rid of this? I did not get an x-pipe or any type of cross-over between the pipes. The guy at the muffler shop said I didn't need them. I have always been under the impression you need something like that to balance out the system? Anyone else have this problem. Thoughts? Thanks!

You really need an X-pipe or even an H-pipe which will help cut down the resonation your getting with those MF's. You also might try turning or rotating the mufflers on end a bit directing some of the resonation out instead of up into the cab. Also a resonated tip will help a bit as well. We can supply you a few like these that will help a bunch with your drone issues. Zoomers Cannon Tips $99.00 each

I think I'll go back to the shop and have him install an x-pipe and see if that helps. The mufflers now are at about a 45 degree angle with the back of the muffler pointed to the ground and the front is aiming right up to bed. So maybe that is what's making the noise.
