Keyless Entry Programming Problems. Please Help!!

I have an 02 Avalanche. One day my keyless remote stopped working. I thought it was the battery in the remote, so I replaced it. The remote still did not work. I followed all of the instructions to sync the remote, but still nothing. I finally found the method to reprogram the remote and tried that. As I was going through the process everything was working fine. When I released the unlock button the doors lock and unlocked. I then held down the lock and unlock buttons on my remote until the doors lock and unlocked. I turned the egnition on to exit out of the programming mode. After following everything step by step, my remote still did not work. I then tried to sync my remote again and nothing happened. I don't know if my remote is bad or something else is wrong. Any help at all would be appreciated!!

get another remote on ebay and try again

I went through the same deal on the wifes 2000 yukon.

 

One of her original remotes did the same as you described. The other original remote worked as exspected.

I tried to get her first remote to program but wasn't able to.

 

I vote for getting another remote to try.

 

FYI,

There is also a way to program them with the scan tool, I don't recall the directions but the GM ESI info lists it as a secondary approach.
