Hi, I'm new to this forum.

A friend of mine has a new Lexus and it has a GPS navigations system and I was wondering if there is a GPS/CD/Radio available to replace the factory CD/Tape/Radio? I hate listening to him go on-and-on about how wonderful his car is.

There are several routes to go. Pioneer makes an aftermarket Nav unit that replaces the factory unit as do many others (crutchfield.com is a great place to look for what fits your year). If you want a more OEM looking solution go to jpcustoms.com and they sell the ones that look like they came from the factory.

They aren't cheap however.

Yep, like ^^ was said, there's several aftermarket units that will fit perfectly in place of the stock unit, and offer GPS Nav, DVD, CD, satellite radio, etc. A nice sampling:

The Delphi unit they sell is the same as the OEM unit offered as an option on '05 and '06 Tahoes, and the same as offered here as a very easy to install kit, and at a lower price:

Thanks, very cool. I think I'll just have to get one.

I got the Delphi TNR800 unit. The installation instructions, "remove the entire dashboard" seemed daunting at first. The instructions claim 1 hr to install. It took me three.

It's a very bitchin' unit. The only serious drawback is the choice to put the data base on a DVD (and requiring the DVD to be installed to work, therefore, sacraficing the CD player.) instead of being able to download it into the unit from the DVD.

Now, for the XM satellite installation . . . . I did a search on Google and found some that say they'll go into the Tahoe. I just don't want to invest the money and have one not work.

One other question: The XM system I found on Google says it has an antenna that sticks to the roof with a magnet. I'd rather have a factory unit that is 'installed'.

Oh, and, one post I read said their XM had an iPod plug that would over-ride XM. That way, I could listen to tunes and not give up the GPS-NAV on the Delphi.

I tried to add a new posting asking about the XM satellite for Tahoes and I got bumped off. I guess I need to make a lot of posts before I can post.

Any ideas for a factory XM for my Tahoe?
