How do I know im getting 4.10s when shopping?

Does the HD package automatically include 4.10's?

Is there a digit in the VIN for gears or is that only in the door jamb?

Depends on the specific vehicle. Most 6.0L will have the 4.10 rear, but a Dmax usually will have 3.73 rear. Check the glove box for the RPO code. I think GT5 designates 4.10's, not 100% sure!

The only shopping Im doing at this point is online, is there any way to tell without it outright saying 4.10?

If you go thru the GM website, you can pull up specific dealer window stickers for each vehicle within your area. It should list right on the window sticker what the gears are.

Yup, the RPO code for 4.10 rear is GT5!!!

Like I said, most 6.0L gas HD's come with 4.10's. I can't recall whether or not 3.73's were an option.

Look in the glove box for the RPO code. GT5 is 4.10 rear, GT4 is 3.73 rear.
