Car & Driver Test all 5 Full Size Trucks

I recieved my April 2007 edition of Car and Driver Friday and on the cover they announced the testing of all 5 of the full size trucks. I could not wait to see the results. I turned to the beginning of the article and this is what I found as I opened the pages.

#5 Ford F 150

#4 Dodge Ram

#3 Toyota Tundra

#2 Nissan Titan

#1 Chevrolet Sivlerado

Man, I was grinning from ear to ear to see the truck that is "going to take over the truck market" come in 3rd. I was also pretty happy to see what was sitting in the # 1 spot. :flag:

Oh yea, and those MASSIVE Brake Rotors that they are carrying on about being bigger than most other trucks, well the stopping distance was a full 10 ft longer than the Silverado.

Hey Toyota, call your Engineering and Development Team in Japan and tell them to try again.

I said from the beginning that if they were coming over here to play in Chevrolet's back yard, they better pack their lunch because they were going to need it. Looks like they will need to pack dinner and breakfast as well.

This is good but, Car and Driver is still a BS mag and I completely disagree with where the POS Titan is ranked. Those trucks are horrible. Not trying to be confrontational I just know alot about those POS titans and there is no way they are the 2nd best truck. NO D@MN WAY!!!!

I thought that odd too. I could not see how it beat out the Toyota, the Dodge or Ford. However, I was so excited to see the Toyota in 3rd and the Silverado in 1st, I really did not care. I also realize this is a "car magazine" testing trucks.

It was still sweet to the specific tests being won by the Siverado.

Hey could you tell us how you really feel about the Titan? :flag:

Well, I still don't really consider it a win. Car and Driver are the most biased fools on the face of the planet. The Silverado probably won because "it had fancy leather-like cupholders", not because it could out-tow or because it had more available weight to load the bed up.

You are correct about Car & Driver. I do not have the article with me right now but they praised the Chevy for it's solid chassis and overall solid feel and quality. In fact the intial fit and finish was rated far above the Toyota.

The public's wallet will be the ultimate judge of who is # 1. I will really run my neck out on this one and make the following prediction.

GM (Chev and GMC) will sell more Silverados and Sierras in the second qtr (3 months only) of this year than Toyota will sell all year long.

Those magazines are so biased i never read them they are trash. But last month Chevrolet sold 58000 trucks and Toyota 15000. Ford sold less than Chevy. Chevrolet is #1

Yea I was reading Truck Trend yesterday and they were also raving about the new silverado... had it right up against the new toyota... its part 1 of a 4 part series i think. The only problem was they had model w/ the 20" rims and were complaining that it didnt do as well off road... I was thinking well you shoulda tried a z71 w/ different tires...

One thing i thought was awesome was that they said the toy might be slightly faster in a straight drag race, but the silverado tore it apart in a slolum and figure 8. They said the auto all wheel drive of the silverado was really impressive and helped it handle better. And that the traction management system on the toy was restrictive on power and were annoyed that it was so hard and dangerous to turn off...

At first look, I thoght Ford was first and Chevy was last. Not that Car and Drivers knows anything, but I like it better the way it is...

And Titan does surprise me, those are goofy trucks..

You agree Car and Driver is biased in their testing yet praise their results, if they would have picked any other truck, they would have been Japanese propaganda but since they picked GM they're right on.

Makes sense.
