alarm doesn't honk ('05 1500)

usually if i push the Lock button on the remote twice in a row, the truck will honk, telling me that the alarm is on (at least that's my interpretation of it, it might just mean it's locked). a few days ago it stopped doing this --- is this something i can fix on my own, or should i mention it the next time i'm in for service (i'm still under warranty)? the truck in question is an '05 Silverado if that makes a difference

do you have steering wheel buttons ?? if so theres a good chance you changed the setting accidentally. Ive one this allready on mine without knowing it.

yep, that was it. come to think of it, i did take the truck for service right about the time it started, and the kid who moved it was new and couldn't figure out how to show the odometer, maybe he changed it up during his button-pushing (before he finally asked me how it worked)
