Well....I decided to take the vacuum line off of the brake booster today to put some seafoam in. So I unhooked it from the brake booster and started the car...and the engine immediately started revving(up to about 1300 or so) and then I shut the engine down quickly. I was sort of suprised by the response(Ive never unhooked the vacuum line) and then I tried starting the truck with the brake booster vacuum plugged in, then I took it off slowly and then when it came off, it instantly revved high then I quickly plugged the line back in. I guessin that this is normal and its doing this because the engines getting more oxygen from the line...anyone have any comments or suggestions? I just dont want to seafoam my truck if the vacuum is messed up or somethin....thanks!

The engine will rev if you disconnect a vaccuum line do to the fact that the engine is now getting more air. This may also set a SES light since the air is entering after the MAF sensor so it will set a lean condition code. This will not hurt the engine as long as it is not left off too long. Just curious, but what problem are you trying to fix with the sea foam?
