8100 oil mileage

What are you 8.1 owners getting for oil mileage. Mine has fallen to about a quart/800 miles, with about 30000 miles on the clock. Any TSB's on this?

not sure of tsb, but 03 and older, replace intake bolts with sealant first, if doesn't work, then new intake gaskets. an 8.1 will still burn about a 1qt per 3-5K no matter what = BIG pistons.

The TSB for the oil consumption issue is Bulletin No: 01-06-01-011B issued August 2005. What the consider normal is 1 qt for every 2000 miles under normal driving conditions. Whan a vehicle is driven in an agressive manor or under loaded conditions the consumption will be more. The last page of the TSB is a Oil Economy Test Data Sheet used to capure the oil consumption over a period of time. Hope this is of some help.

I have 160,000 miles on the ticker. Mine burns 1 quart per 5000 miles. Always has.

The dealer says 1 quart per 100 gals of fuel is acceptable, this is just slightly worst then an Envinrude E-Tec "2 stroke"
