just wondering if it is possible to clean your fuel injectors yourself. If so, what products are made to do so out of the vehicle??

Any input would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

IMO Techron is good preventative maintenance, but if your engine is already fouled up best bet is a fuel injection service. The equipment is pricey so it's crazy to buy it. I have a garage do it. I recall the cost is somewhere around $80-100 but it does make a noticable difference if you engine is running rough to begin with.

This service (the part you need the equipement for) involves tapping a detergeant directly into the fuel rail and running the engine off of the cleaner. You can also clean out the throttle body (you can do that yourself) and dump a big bottle of Techron in the tank for a few tankfulls.

I usually run the Techron through every 3000 miles, but I also use Top Tier gas which has some detergeants already in it as well as being a good quality fuel.

People also run sea-foam through an engine vacum, but that won't clean clogged injectors.
