Dte Po 340 Codes

I really enjoy the advice, many times someone has already gone thru the trial and error and found the solution. What would be the best service manual for my 98 GMC 5.7 ???

 

Now for my problem : 98 5.7 " Po 340 codes ", cpm (camshaft positioner mod. ) change distributor cap and rotor-cleared the code and it was ok for a few days, then came back...where would I find the cpm and what is the small module in the top of the distributor. I thought it was the cpm but my friend thinks its the igition module Thanks to anyone who has any Idea of where to start and where the sensors are located.

the Cam Shaft Positioning sensor is in the distributor on you motor.

 

Get that circut tested to be sure it is not a short , or anything related to the CMS .. if it is not change the sensor .
