Dvd Headrest Options

I've seen the dealer's aftermarket option...and while it looks nice, $2000 is pretty steep. So what are the aftermarket options?

I assume I can find them cheaper, and if not, at least get a lot better quality for the money.

I pulled a set out of my '06 Hummer H3 that seems to be a standard GM part used in all of their trucks & SUV's. I searched ebay to see what the going rate was and you can find them for about $600 a set. I like the ones that came out of my H3 as the only wiring is a power and ground lead. The units are independent from the stereo and use wireless headphones. Each unit can play it's own dvd or watch each others. Perfect for entertaining kids in the back on long trips! Here is what I have from my H3 that I plan on putting in my Silverado Crew soon...

Best Bet is to Either Buy TVs and Install them or to buy them off ebay. Also Alot of stereo shops will install them if youd like.

I do the install if you want to either A send me your headrests and pay for the TV or B. Pay for new head rests and the TVs

Thanks. Guess I'm just having trouble finding a set. I found this one on ebay which looks like it should work:

Show the RPO Code of 833. Which jives with what the GM Accessories page shows:

Dual Player Headrest DVD System - Light Titanium (833)

But the part # is different (17803043 for the auction, 19159842 for GM).

I think I'd be comfortable with the install myself, but want to make sure I'm getting the right part.

Well its up to you. If you want to go with factory units then that is fine, however, if I was you, i would just go with preinstalled units for a couple hundred. They work great and you can get them to match pretty easily...

Something along the lines of....

It looks like those are just the monitors (no DVD player(s) included). Is that correct?

One thing I like about the factory option is the DVD player included in each, so two kids can watch different programs. Less wiring as well.
