Loud Pop While Hard Cornering

I heard this loud pop while making a hard corner at slow speed.. A uturn. I have heard this same noise while turning left or right... backing left or right.. I am wondering whats up in the front of my suspension. Today I noticed a rather large gap in the front passenger link. The drivers side had this same seem.. but not as prominent. any ideas?

I get the same thing all the time...but I think its due to the locking rear diff.

My 03 was doing something similiar...a loud popping sound while turning. It ended up being the steering intermediate shaft. Ever since 1999, GM's design of the intermediate steering shaft has sucked and they have issued severa TSB's for this issue. Took it to the dealer and they replaced it with a "new design" shaft that gm has come out with.

My guess is its the intermediate shaft...

That would be a good place to look since I had the front end rebuilt. Not to mention the persistent squeek under the drivers and passengers side..

That would be my guess also. The bushings are probably warn or on their way polyurethane cost alittle more but much better in the long run

Check your rear springs. I'm willing to bet this is it. I had the same noise for months until I finally found it.

Go to the back of your bed, grab the bed rail and shake the truck VERY hard. It will most likely start the loud clunking/popping. If it does, your springs have rust build up between them.

Get the truck on a lift so the springs will extend out (lift by the frame so the rear wheels come off the ground). Pump grease between the leaf packs. Noise gone.

I avoided posting till i found out what truck you have,,maybe a sig would be cool for ya so we all know when replying ?

i noticed you had been in a wreck ? and the truck is a 4x4 ?

Check the front CV joints , a common noise when worn is a loud popping sound ..

LOL...Ya it is not in this thread where I read he wrecked truck ... It may not even be his topic I think it was though , I found it trying to determine if he had a 4x4 or not , if he had a 2wd the cv post would have been retarded !

Yeah it was wrecked. Had a new frame under it. 4wd z... Single cab.. I am pretty sure all this is related to that incident. squeeky mounts etc.
