I have it working now.

I also know we have many men and women from the armed forces on this forum and I hope they know they are appreciated and that we are grateful for what they do for us.

I have seen the video and is a tear jerker. My little Sis is in the guard and she was over in Iraq for a year, it was hard to see here go. She had some close calls but made it home safley. Her boyfriend (who was over there when she was) has been called up again. He leaves in August, everyone wish him good luck because she finally has a man that is worth keeping around.

God Bless Our Troops!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All I can say is that the next time you see one of us in the airport just say thanks, or even a thumbs up and a smile. Its simple and means alot. It is definately better than what my father had to deal with when he came back from Vietnam.

That was a cool news report. Unfortunately we don't see enough of this type of reporting done by the press. It helps to put a face (or two) on the War.

Trey,

Thank you very much. I can tell you that we are doing the right thing over there. Somethings are getting better, some are not, but we have to understand that there will never be a "clear cut" victory like we had over Japan or Germany after WWII. The only measures of "victory" we can point to are people gaining there ablity to self-govern, without a dictator, and that there have been no 9/11 attacks like we had in NY and at the Pentagon.

We are fighting a group of people that are cult like in the way they see and HATE our way of life. We cannot try to put a logical understanding of why they hate us so much, but rather understand the deep hate they have. In many ways it is sad, but after talking with many Iraqis I can say thay do want us there, and they do understand the cost we have had to carry. For us we are working to change two generations of Iraqis that only knew fear and distrust of their government. Its kind of like Mexico, they have freedom, sure its not perfect, there is alot of corruption, but its freedom Mexico style, and thats okay.

Sorry for the long rant.

Kinda sorta along these lines, I was fortunate enough to do a motorcycle escort Saturday for the family of a Marine who was killed in Iraq. We escorted them to the airport for the arrival of his body, then back to the funeral home. That was powerful enough, I can only imagine the funeral Saturday.
