I noticed quite a few people on this forum have the chrome putco door handle covers and or mirror covers. My question is how hard are they to stick on, do they look just like original, and are they durable enough in your opinion to last the test of time. Also can they be cleaned with regular chrome type cleaners.

 

Thanks, thinking of getting the set of both but wanted some opinions from people who have had them on for a while.

My Dad's putco mirror caps last exactly 1 year. They can't stand the Maine winter. He has been through two sets now. This year he bought the GM chrome caps and we'll see if they last next winter.

 

I have good door handle covers (actual stainless) but my chrome Putco tailgate handle cover has the same problem his mirror caps do.

I found they stick on easy enough, but don't hold up on the finish over time, I took mine off after less than 6 months and luckily got my money back.

Those are the reply's I was hoping not to hear, but for more money and much more installation time I suppose the real deal could be installed without too much trouble...
