Chrome Strap

I own a 06' silverado 1500 crw 2wd. I recently came up with the idea to chrome plate the straps in between the top and bottom headlights. I think it would look good. Now I found a place in New Mexico that will try to do it but because the're plastic I'd have to send a test pair first to see if they melt. The guy said he thinks there is a 95% chance for success. The question is: is there an easier way, or a place I can buy them chromed already? I can buy new pices for $20.00 but I don't know what finish they are. The part number for them is 10397972. There has got to be an easy way to do this.
