1997 Chevy Suburban is what i drive....

problem: dead battery, so i switched it out with a brand new one. now the alarm won't go off, the truck wont start, and what i've done now is unhook the brain. i've searched far and wide for a fix to no avail. i tried reprogramming the alarm, by ground pins 4 and 8 through the port, and nothing... i need to go work on monday and this is my only car for now.

any help fellas?

You should be able to just unhook the neg. battery cable for a minute and rehook it. Make sure its a quick constant atachment so as not to spike the PCM.

1997 Suburbans did not have that type of starter kill from the factory. The factory system will allow the truck to start, but it will stall right out. Sounds like there is an aftermarket alarm. Look under the dash for a push button switch, if you find it start, turn the key to the run position and hold in the button until the alarm turns off and that should reset the alarm.
