The Dreaded 11th Zerk

Just thought I would let everyone know that I bought one of these:

http://www.amazon.com/Lincoln-Lubricating-...4207&sr=8-1

Makes getting that 11th zerk right below the AC compressor a piece of cake!

Very cool part. I never knew there was such a thing. Good find and cheap too.

Yeah it's one of the best tools I own! I can finally grease that fitting easily now. Even the dealers don't grease that fitting...the zerk head was dry as a bone. Real nice of them!

Changed mine to a 90 deg so I can get to it.

Thought about doing that. The 90 degree fitting makes more sense for me as I have a few other things I grease that I can use the 90 degree on. Both work great.

Zerk is another name for a grease fitting, which were invented by Oscar U. Zerk.

Right on...so what are the 11 zerks?

They're the Yugoslavian equivalent of the Seven Dwarfs. :D

This zerk is not really that hard to get at. Just turn the wheel to the right and it comes right out into the open (more or less). I usually grease when I'm rotating the tires. Easier to do when off anyway. At that point you can just grab the caliper and turn the whole thing with your hands and not the steering wheel.

I tried to swap this zerk out with a 90 degree one and ended up destroying it so that little more than a metal nub remains. Any suggestions on what to do with this now?

I have this same adapter but I cant get it to put the grease in any of the fittings. It just squirts around it. WTF am I doing wrong ?

I have to agree with Jeff on this one. I have an 18" hose on my grease gun and I have never had any problems getting to this fitting as long as I turn the wheel.
