07 Nbs Leaking Oil Already.

:D

Got under the truck today with a buddy to check out the exhaust one final time before the Magnaflow arrives this week and found a little surprise... OIL. It doesn't appear to be coming from the heads or anything major but it still pisses me off. It looks like where the oil filter screws in there is a capped off section on the side (guessing it's for other applications or something) that doesn't appear to do anything, except leak that is. I'll take some pics tomorrow and post 'em but I am not going to get to heavy into tracking it down just going to drop the truck off on Monday, make my disgust known :D , and let them fix it. The oil level is fine so not much is leaking but it's too much nonetheless.

My truck was built in Fort Wayne, Indiana if you are interested in checking yours out too.

Sorry to hear that, but s**t happens even on new stuff. I'm sure they will be more than happy to take care of it when you take it in. :D

I worked many years for a dealer and most customers don't understand the 3 B's: We didn't Buy it, Build it or Break it. Be nice to the dealer and you can get a lot more done than coming in with an attitude.

It's not uncommon for new engines to leak. Hasn't completely sealed up yet. I'm sure it is no big deal.

It is not a leak until there is a puddle on the ground. My 5.3 with 130k on it does leave a small spot but it is from the drain plug. No sweat.

I hear ya but i didn't say I was going to go in and scream at them. This is the same dealer I bought it from and if a guy doesn't let the dealer know that there is a problem and that problem upsets the customer how's it ever supposed to get back to GM? I am going to let them know how I feel, just not going to scream it at them. My Rear park assist doesn't work right now either so it's not just this that's bringing forth the concern.

My 07 NBS leaked on the first day. Nothing big, just some minor drips. Took it in and they said it was a small burr on an oil line. This was in Feb and it has been fine since. I was upset when I first saw it as I think a new truck should not be leaking but it turned out to be a very small issue. Good luck

My rear park assist doesn't work either! At least, it's very intermittent. Anyone else have problems with this? I thought it was because I have a trailer hitch attached 90% of the time. Let me know what they say...

mine does not work if I have my boat hooked up. Also, it will not work if it is wet such s going through a car wash or hosing it sown but works the next day.

I thought I read somewhere that the rear park assist will not work id there is something in the hitch receiver.

If this is true, I am glad I did not include this on my order since I leave my hitch in all summer and use a hitch cover during the winter.

My issue is an actual faulty sensor but prior to that it worked just fine with the hitch in. My hitch is always in, I love the extra protection in an accident. I got rear-ended in my old '91 Sierra by a Honda Accord and my truck came out unscathed while the lady's Accord had a hole blown through the radiator and was not drivable. If for some reason the park assist was to not work with a hitch installed on a truck, that'd be one of the worst oversights in the history of the automotive industry.

No Doubt!!!

Maybe it gets deactivated when the trailer lights are connected? Just a guess. That would make more sense to me.

it works fine with a hitch in but like Daddy said when you hook up the lights it turns off and that is by design
