Chevrolet Vs Gmc

Hey guys, as you know, GM has (FINALLY) taken some baby steps to differentiating the Chevy and GMC trucks. As far as styling goes, anyway. Since the trucks are the same mechanically, styling is all we're looking at here. When you look closely, you can see differences we never had before, like the way the NBS Chevy front fender flare sweeps forward into the headlight while the GMC flare bulges out and sweeps downwards like a conventional flare. So, as far as styling goes, which do you like best?

Personally I never did like the grill on the chevs. You know that big ugly bar across the center of the grill with the bow tie in the middle.

I think that the grill would look much better with the gold bow tie in the center of the blacked out grill just as the bold red GMC is.

Just my opinion, although I have always been a full size Jimmy or sierra kind of guy.

I definitely prefer the front-end of the GMC particulalry on the lower end SLE models (enough to pay $100 more for the GMC than a comparable Chevy when I ordered mine). I just don't care for all the chrome under the grill on the front of the lower end Silverado LT models.

I am surprised GMC has lasted this long as a separate brand considering the trucks are mechanically identical.

Although I have a Chevy I like the front-end look of the GMC a little better.

i love the hoods on the new GMC's. i will have to agree with another member in a different thread, " take the Chevy bed and put it on the GMC....". that would look pretty good i believe. maybe somebody could photochop something like that?

I just bought a NBS Chevy CC and I liked the looks of the GMC front but I do not care about the wheel arches on the Sierra at all.

I am not crazy about either of them, but if I had to choose it would be the GMC.

I voted Chevrolet, but I really like them both a lot. I think GM really did a good job on these trucks and while I think somethings could be better I'd say that overall this is the best looking fullsize truck on the market right now. The droF comes in 2nd.

I can't stand the color-matched corners on the NBS Chevy front bumper when combined with the chrome. I would rather see the full color-matched bumper or full chrome. The mix doesn't look right IMHO.

Also, I had a red one as a rental last week (mine was in the shop) and those bright red corners are composite or fiberglass and were a totally different shade of red compared to the rest of the truck. It looked cheap.

I would probably go with the GMC or get a bumper combo like this one on the Chevy

I went down to the Chevy dealer to buy the NBS work truck after haggling with the salesman the night before.When we sat down to go over the numbers the price went up 1000.00.He dissappeared for half an hour while checking w/ the sales manager to see if he could sell it for what we previously agreed on.I split and went down to the GMC dealer 2 blocks away and was glad I did.1st time I saw the nbs GMC and think it blows away the Chevy in looks.I installed p/w and p/door locks,bed liner,caps and toolbox.Will be adding Denali grille and replacing valence above bumper with white to match truck instead of the black one.

I think that all of the older chevy grilles look pretty bad with the big metal bar running all the way through the headlights. But I've also never really liked the squareness of the GMC front end. The NBS looks better on both. I like the new GMC look but it looks too plastic and the new chevy one has a metal bar that stops at the headlights instead of continuing through them. I like the look of the Chevy better although those colored corners on the front look terrible except when the truck is black.

The Sierra is the winner. It looks so much better. The headlights and grill work so much better together. The Silverado is just too wide looking when you view it head on.
