Flashpaq Shift Issues?

Recommended Posts

First of all, to answer the obvious question... I needed a programmer that I could easily return my vehicle to stock, frequently, for warranty repairs and scheduled maintenence. Replacing the PCM every time is out of the question.

The flashpaq was one of the few handhelds that supported the "U" engine code in the '06 Denali. It programs in a few seconds, easy to use, adds about 35RWHP, and is updateable on the internet. Sounds great!

However, there is a problem. There is at least a 1 second delay during up shifts before it grabs the next gear, and it's quite annoying. This occurs when applying more than 50% throttle. It has nothing to do with shift pressure. You can adjust it all you want; it will increase the firmness, but there is still a delay. Return vehicle to stock, delay is gone. Flashpaq keeps saying they are "working on it" for the past month, but have yet to provide updates or an ETA.

My big question is if anybody else here is having similar problems? The flashpaq forums haven't been very helpful. :fume:

Yep, probably the same guy on the flashpaq forums. Unfortunately they haven't been able to help - they seem to think it's an issue with the truck...?

Sooo, I've ordered a Hypertech, and we'll see how that works! If it has the same issue, then I'll admit that I was wrong, and carry on. If it DOES work just fine, I'll be taking this issue up with SC, again. :)
